NOVEMBER
2010, MONTH OF LEBANON TO THE MUSEUM MUMCI IN TOLUCA - MEXICO
The month of Lebanon has just been inaugurated in Toluca,
(suburbs of Mexico City), in the new Museo Modelo de Ciencia
e Industria - Mumci which, at the time of the bicentenary of Mexican independence, accommodates in turn the ten large countries having
influenced this country with its attractive cultures and the geography. Many personalities, of which Marco Antonio Abaid Kado, secretary
libanese mexican of the tax inspectorate to the government of the State of Mexico City, attended the ceremony during which the president of association Al Fannan, Nabih Chartouni, presented the exposures on the Museum of Beirut and the rebuilding of the downtown area, as well as the new photographs of Lebanon
of Naji Farah. Concerts and exposures will follow one another all this month of November 2010 for better making known with the Mexican public the cultural heritage of Lebanon

Tania Kassis sings in Argentina and in Brazil for the benefit of the
Saint-George hospital of Beirut: On the initiative of the
universitarian Medical center of the Saint-George hospital of
Greek-orthodoxs founded in 1878 in Beirut, the singer Tania Kassis gave three
concerts in Latin America, on Tuesday, November 2 in Teatro Astral in Buenos Aires and
on Thursday, November 4th and Friday, November 5th in
the Monte-Libano Club in São Paulo. This event was co-organized
with the Latin-American branch of the World Lebanese Cultural
Union with the participation of the Jucal (young people
of Lebanese origin) in Buenos Aires.

A shining future for Lebanon: Associations of young people are there to testify to what will be Lebanon of tomorrow. Proof is association “Jomali” (Jóvenes mexicanos
de ascendencia libanesa), working since 1982 under the supervision of
the charismatic “Papi” Antun Nakad, from Zghorta, whose traditional meeting proceeded this year - after Ixtapa in 2009 -
in Puebla, from October 29th to November 2nd, 2010, with the participation of more than 250 young people
coming from all the areas of Mexico. The Lebanese Club of Puebla,
with its famous cuisine, was decorated for the occasion with the colors
of the bicentenary of the Independance of Mexico, with in the principal hall a great exposure of photographs of Naji Farah, “Lebanon,
the Infinite Vista”, presented for the first time to the

Return to the origins, two years later, for the “Phoenicia”: The boat and its crew were received officially by the
World Lebanese Culturel Union, chaired by Eid Chedraoui and whose general secretary Nick Kahwaji is in Canada.
Several representatives of the WLCU in Lebanon took part
to the organization of the receptions, like Antoine Kaddissi, Antoine Menassa and Georges Faddoul, as well as civil town councillors and other persons in charge of the visited cities. A triumphal entry was reserved for the boat in Tripoli, followed by a private lunch,
and then a great reception near the boat visited by hundreds of
schoolboys -

Lebanese
Mexican Medical conference at the USEK: The first
Lebanese Medical conference was held the current October 7th and 8th at the University of the Holy Spirit
of Kaslik. Took part in its organization the senior of the Medical
College Dr. Kamal Kallab, as well as the” Amistad libano-mexicana” and RJLiban at the time of the voyage undertaken with the doctor Georges Hayek in Mexico City near “association Al-Hakim” last February. Several talks were given, presenting the medical condition to Mexico City in parallel with Lebanon, as well as subjects of general medicine, with the participation of doctors Lebanese of which Dr. Fawzi Adaimi. The Mexican doctors of Lebanese origin who made the voyage to take part in it are: Drs Nagib Chamlati, Anwar Neme Atala, Alfredo Añarritu Cervantez, Anna Luisa Velasco Kuri, Mauricio Kuri and Alejandro Aceff.
An important diner was offered by Dr. Kamal Kallab to Amchit in honor of Mexican guests. The follow-up will be carried out by the new Center of the Studies and Cultures of the Latin America with the USEK, will be directed by the libano-Brazilian researcher Roberto Khatlab. The purpose of this center is to prepare and follow university projects of exchanges with the Latin America in the fields cultural, economic and scientificLe

les 7 et 8 octobre courants à l’Université du
Saint-Esprit de Kaslik. Ont participé à son
organisation le doyen de la Faculté de médecine Dr
Kamal Kallab, ainsi que l’”Amistad
libano-mexicana” et RJLiban lors du voyage entrepris
avec le médecin Georges Hayek à Mexico auprès de l’

Plusieurs exposés ont été donnés, présentant l’état
sanitaire à Mexico en parallèle avec le Liban, ainsi
que des sujets de médecine générale, avec la
participation de médecins libanais dont Dr Fawzi

qui ont fait le voyage pour y participer sont : Drs

centre a pour but de préparer et suivre des projets
d’échanges universitaires avec l’Amérique latine
dans les domaines culturel, économique et scientifique.

Deuxième
dîner de l’association RJLiban à Mexico : L’association RJLiban,
qui fête cette année ses 25 ans, a tenu son second dîner
dans la capitale mexicaine le mardi 28 septembre, à
l’issue de la réception présidentielle, au
restaurant Gruta Ehden – Florida, en présence d’une
trentaine de personnes, dont père Yaacoub Badaoui,
Antoine Menassa, Georges Hayek, Carlos Nader, Soraya
Chamoun, Lourdes Jorge, Mauricio Sa et plusieurs jeunes
souhaitant se rendre au Liban.
Père Yaacoub Badaoui a
tenu à remercier l’équipe dirigeante pour son action
à partir de la France et maintenant du Mexique, donnant
la parole à Antonio Musi, présent avec les membres de
sa famille, qui a relaté les détails de leur séjour
en août dernier au Liban. RJLiban participera en 2011
à “ la semana del Emigrante” qui se déroule tous
les ans début mars au Centro Libanés, avec un concert

Père Yaacoub Badaoui made a point of thanking the executive team for his action starting from France and maintaining for Mexico, giving the word to Antonio Musi, present with the members of his family, which reported the details of their stay last August in Lebanon. RJLiban will take part in 2011 in “the semana del Emigrante” which is held the every years at the beginning of March in Central Libanés, with a concert and an exposure of photographs of Lebanon.

Journées économiques et culturelles Liban-Bretagne prévues
à Vannes les 24, 25 et 26 septembre
: Le
programme de voyage avait été établi par Bruno
Bodart, directeur de l’Office du Tourisme de Vannes et
du Golfe du Morbihan, pour les hommes d’affaires et
les touristes libanais souhaitant découvrir durant
trois jours la région de Vannes en Bretagne. La journée
du vendredi 24 septembre devait être réservée aux
perspectives d’échanges économiques entre les sociétés
libanaises et bretonnes, avec des exemples concrets basés
sur l’expérience des interlocuteurs, dont des représentants
de la Mission économique française au Liban et de la
Chambre de Commerce franco-libanaise de Paris.
La
journée du samedi 25 septembre devait être consacrée
à la présentation au grand public du Liban culturel et
touristique, en présence notamment de l’ingénieur-historien
Camille Busson s'entretenant de l’influence des marins
phéniciens dans cette région. Une tournée en bateau
dans le Golfe du Morbihan aurait dû clôturer ces journées

Inauguration
de la "Croix de tous les peuples" le soir de
la fête de la Croix le 13 septembre :
A l’occasion de la bénédiction
inaugurale de la “Croix de tous les peuples” à
Kanat Bakich le soir de la fête de la Croix, une messe
solennelle s'est tenue sur place le lundi 13 septembre
à 18h, à laquelle ont participé un grand nombre
d’habitants de la région et autres visiteurs. Cette
croix en structure métallique, d’une hauteur de 73,8
mètres, domine les montagnes du Metn et du Kesrouan,
face à Baskinta et à Faqra, et a nécessité deux ans
de travaux. Jésus et François Ibanez, de
l’association française “Terre de Dieu” - http://terre-de-dieu.monsite.orange.fr
- sont à l’initiative de ce projet, “la plus grande
croix métallique du monde”, qui a pour maître
d’oeuvre la société Parissis représentée par
l’ingénieur Vassili Lampsos.
A cette occasion, la
paroisse Notre-Dame des Anges et l’association RJLiban
ont organisé un départ en bus à partir de la paroisse
dans le quartier Badaro à Beyrouth le lundi 13
septembre à 16h, avec un retour à 22h. Certains ont
visité Baskinta et la montagne de Sannine avant la
