"NEGOTIATE LIKE A PHOENICIAN IN TIME OF CRISIS"
CONFERENCE HELD BY DR. HABIB CHAMOUN IN VIENNA ON WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 25, 2009
Dr. Habib Chamoun-Nicolas held a very successful lecture in the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna on Wednesday November 25, 2009. In the presence of the Lebanese and Mexican ambassadors to Vienna, El Khoury and Diaz, as well as other ambassadors from Palestine, Congo and other countries, Dr. Chamoun exposed the adequate methodology of analysis used to negotiate in time of crisis according to the Phoenician philosophy. He based his arguments on his famous book “Negotiate like a Phoenician” to apply this methodology on many cases that concerned Diplomats who attended this conference. Many historic cases were discussed during the lecture like the Disintegration of Yugoslavia, the Fall of the old Soviet Union, and the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Chamoun also took some time to compare the negotiating capacity of His Holiness, the Pope John Paul II with the Phoenician methodology, knowing that both were primarily based on preserving the human dignity. Chamoun’s lecture left a very good impression on the ambassador of Mexico who invited him to analyze the theme of the Arabs and the Israelis in the United Nations.
